❌ I wouldn’t be fluent in English if I hadn’t gotten injured in the gym.🤕🇺🇸 Here’s a crazy story.😮👇
In 2017, I got injured during a CrossFit workout. At the time, I was hands down in the best shape of my life. I was even actively competing. But then the injury happened, and it kept me out of the gym for 9 long, miserable months. During that time, I gained 18 kilograms (40 lbs).😮💨
In January 2018, I was finally able to get back to training. I quit CrossFit and focused on strength training. But I was nowhere near where I’d left off before the injury. I had gained a lot of fat, lost muscle and strength, and couldn’t even do a single pull-up.🫣 That was both depressing and humiliating. I’d been working out since 2007, and now 11 years later I felt like I was starting over.
Fast forward: it took me 6 months to lose all the weight and regain most of the muscle and strength I’d lost (thank God for muscle memory!😁).
You might think that injury was a disaster for me, but it was actually a blessing in disguise (that’s a cool little idiom for you to remember 😊). If it hadn’t been for the injury, I dare say I wouldn’t be a personal trainer today, and I wouldn’t be able to speak English!
It’s crazy to admit, but that injury turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me.😅
I proved to myself that I could lose weight, so I thought: maybe I can help others do the same. I started with my mom, and she lost over 30 kilograms (66 lbs)! Then I helped more people—first in person and then online.
In 2021, I decided I wanted to help people all over the world, and that’s when learning English became my obsession. I knew the only way to achieve that goal was to become fluent in English. Mind you, at the time I was maybe B1 at best, so I had a long way to go.😅
But I also knew that if I put the work in, the results will follow. And they did.🙂
All of this stemmed from that injury. It completely changed my life.
✅ Here’s the takeaway for you:
Bad things happen to all of us. They might seem like a curse at first, but don’t give up and don’t lose hope because they may lead to something great, even if you can’t see it yet.
With all that being said, I’d like to invite you to join my Fit & Fluent Coaching Program where I’ll help you lose weight, build muscle, get healthier and more confident, and improve your English at the same time.🇺🇸👍

Today my daughter turned 1.🥳🎂🎉
Here are my top 3 lessons I’ve learned over this past year as a young dad.👇
1️⃣ Don’t ever wish your baby was older.
Yeah, the first year is incredibly challenging (mine wasn’t any different). But I know that soon my little girl won’t want me to carry her because she’ll want to walk on her own, and I won’t be rocking her to sleep in my arms anymore. I know I’m going to miss it. That’s why I cherish every single moment I spend with her.
2️⃣ One smile on her face makes all the sacrifice and sleepless nights worth it.
Being a parent is incredibly challenging, not only physically (when you’re running on little to no sleep) but also mentally. You constantly worry about your baby, and you’re 100% responsible for their life. That can really weigh heavy on your shoulders. But seeing her smile and the love in her eyes makes it all worthwhile.
3️⃣ It’s ok to slow down.
I felt bad about not being able to practice English or work out as much as I did before my daughter was born. All the new responsibilities turned out to be more time-consuming and required more energy than I’d thought. I beat myself up for “not being disciplined” anymore.
Now I know that we just go through different phases in our lives and prioritize different things, and that’s ok.
Once I realized that and lowered my expectations for what I can get done in a day, I became more disciplined and started posting on YouTube and later also here on IG.🙂
I want to wrap up this post by saying thank you to all of you for being here. It allows me to pursue my goals and create a better life for my little daughter.💙🙏
