Something that I'd never get is judging somebody over who they like to be a fan of. Now before I start this imaginary ted talk, I wanna say this does NOT go towards any rapists, etc, basically people who are genuinely evil, because if you support those kind of people idgaf what hate you get because you deserve it. Now to where i was getting, something that I think personally IN MY OPINION, idc what people listen to. Irl, my friend group consists of: me (listens to basically just anything I love but mostly pop, rap and kpop), friend 1 (who listens to jpop), friend 2 (who listens to "weird kid" music and stray kids), friend 3 (who listens to the Beatles and artists alike), friend 4 (who listens to metal & rock), etc etc. Now, as you can see, in my friend group, I do not have a friend who listens to the exact music i listen to. Sure I have 2 friends who are also kpop fans, one being a stay (friend 2) one being a wishzen (friend 4), but they do not like the exact same groups as I do. My other friends dont like kpop at all. But im not friends with them because of who they enjoy listening to, im friends with them because they're good people. And I apply that same logic online. Would I ever be a fan of bts? No. Probably never will be. But if somebody is genuinely a good person who can hold a good conversation online, and they happen to be an army? I lowk dgaf. I am not a fan of BTS because of the ridiculous amount of controversies they had, and the fact 50% of their fandom are crazy and very cult-like, plus I dont like their music except maybe 2 songs they made in their 13 years of career. But I have I think around 3 army moots? Or maybe more just 3 of those ive seen talk about bts and how they're a fan. And those 3 seem to be genuine people who are also smart so they're my moots. I listen to girls generation who has had their fair share of controversies with racism, my bias is simply not the one who had those racist controversies. Same goes towards h2h, itzy, all nct units except wish, and more groups i stan but I mostly like new gen groups so most of them arent problematic or controversial. So yeah, if somebody likes a problematic artist but can genuinely hold that artist accountable and knows that artist done shitty things, i believe we shouldnt go ahead to call that fan slurs. Plus I believe nobody who isn't a criminal should get called slurs because as somebody who got called slurs before, that's not a fun experience. Stan whoever you want, you are your own person, do what you think is the best if you still uphold your morals. But just dont be surprised if I dont feel interested to talk to you about that artist, remian respectful about who I like and ill remain respectful about who you like ♥︎ (and yes respect is in fact something both people should have when interacting on this channel! Respect me and ill respect you)
