Nvidia hotfix driver 581.94 out, for anyone running a 580 or newer driver. I've read about some impressive performance boosts in other games with this hotfix driver, including MSFS 2024. I personally saw about a 10% improvement with no FG or any time of performance boosters running. I was going to do some performance testing this morning and then saw that this driver had come out and updated. So I was able to compare it apples-to-apples to 581.80. Too lazy to do a video after doing 3 this week.

1. Download driver:

Write down all of your NVCP and Nvidia App settings before doing the uninstall/install!

2. Go into Safe Mode:

3. Uninstall old driver with DDU:

4. Restart your PC. Go into Nvidia Control Panel, in Manage 3D Settings, set "Shader Cache size" to Disable. Restart PC again.

5. Clear all of your Nvidia shader caches:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\NVIDIA

Delete the CONTENTS of DXCache and GLCache folders. Then delete contents of this folder if you have it...

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\DXCache

Then delete the contents of this folder if you have it...

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\NVIDIA\ComputeCache

Then run "Disk Cleanup" and select "DirectX Shader Cache" and click OK to delete it.

6. Go back into NVCP and set your shader cache size back to whatever you had (I use 10GB).

7. Restart one last time (for good measure), then you are ready for happy simming.

What kind of airplanes interest you in terms of content? I realized that I'm sort of all over the place, I enjoy flying everything from the 152 to the 777. What do you want to see more of on the channel? A lot of channels focus on how to fly the larger aircraft, but very few focus on how to fly GA airplanes *WELL*. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

10/05/2025: Hey all, today is the last warm weekend day of the year here in central New York (it's going to be 85 this Sunday and 65 next Sunday), so I'm going to take advantage of the weather and take Mrs. ISP to the Utica Zoo! With any luck they will let us out. We will be back to our group flight possibly this Wednesday, but definitely next Sunday. Enjoy the day everyone!

An especially warm greeting today to the petty folks running AVSIM, who have now taken to removing any of my content from their forums. It is topical, relevant and of interest to their members, as evidenced by the two threads started about my 2020 vs. 2024 video in the last 24 hours, but instead of serving the interests of their members, they insist on serving their own (infinitesimally small) egos. This also begs the question as to what other content is either pushed or not allowed on AVSIM based on the self-interests, perceived or otherwise, of the moderators and staff, rather than on the interests of flight simmers that visit their site.

As I've said before, the membership at AVSIM deserves better. Which they clearly will not be getting. It would be nice to see a group of small men put their own hurt feelings aside for the interests of the flight sim community, but holding your breath on this one will lead to suffocation. The day that site dies off will be a day of celebration for me, not because of my hurt feelings, but because it will be addition by subtraction for the best interests of the flight sim community as a whole.

Someone should start a family-friendly, open and unbiased flight sim forum. I think it would draw a lot of interest.

Hey all, I am hoping to have a group flight today at 4 as usual but I can't get multiplayer working in 2024. I've tried everything save for resyncing my account. I'm going to try that but if it doesn't work we're out of luck. I would say let's fly 2020, but I'm in the SU16 beta, so that doesn't work either.
