=====

When I write, I’m reaching for an indescribable feeling. With ‘Tapes,’ I wanted to create something so immersive that when you listen, you don’t know how much time has passed. I didn’t want instrumental moments that anchor memory or offer direction; in the time of writing and performing this track, I wanted to float all the way out to sea, to sink, and to drift beyond the limits of perceptual clarity: Dreaming, and letting go…

There is so much to say about why I made OBJECTS. My growing interest in deep listening, automatic writing, and listening as duration….. and my everlasting relationship with wanting to pay close attention to things that are ignored, or even rejected. I will be sharing more on these things soon…. 🤍

I’m very excited to announce the film for this track has been made by Alex Goldstein. Alex is an artist I’ve admired for a long time, and this is the first in a series of films that he is creating for the album. The film Alex has made for ‘Tapes’ feels so connected to the immersiveness of the music, i can hardly imagine one without the other. Full film out now on YouTube.

There is also more to say about the amazing people involved in the making of this record, which I will share soon…
