Scott D. Davis built electric guitars out of Legos as a boy, headbanging to Iron Maiden and Metallica. At sixteen, he unwrapped what he hoped was a guitar. It was a keyboard.

Disappointment became destiny. He formed rock bands, learned by ear, chased the dream. He released Tahoma (2003) and Winter Journey (2004), sharing stages with George Winston and David Lanz.

Then, driving to a concert while headbanging to Pantera, came his eureka moment: What would this sound like on piano? The answer became Rockfluence (2006) and Pianotarium: Piano Tribute to Metallica (2007).

Since then, Scott has accumulated over 15 million YouTube views and performed aboard ShipRocked with Korn, Queensrÿche, Sevendust, and Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe. His rock concert piano style doesn't quiet the world; it shakes it.

Now, The Beautiful Darkness (2026) pairs thirteen original compositions with poetry and hand-painted watercolors. A rocker at the piano, finally exactly where he belongs.

Do y'all know what "guitar" solo this is?

There's one wrong note in this performance. At least, not the note I meant to play. One take, no edits. See if you can find it.

I've been making music for a long time. Most of it quietly, and a lot of it alone.

This month something changed. An album first conceived thirteen years ago finally exists in the world. A solo piano concept album. Thirteen songs, thirteen paintings, thirteen poems tell the story. I'm still getting used to the fact that it's real.

If you're here, you probably found me through the music. I'm glad you did. I'm planning to use this space to talk about the making of things, about what moves me, what moves you, about what it's like to care deeply about something creative. On that note; what's a piece of music you keep coming back to? I'm curious.

More soon. The Beautiful Darkness is out now, and the first single, Love, is on Spotify. But mostly... hi. Glad to be here.
