it's getting really miserable.
i know my little 15 minutes of fame was because i made an animation mocking an attempted series that very openly uses and supports generative ai creation. i want it to be completely fucking clear that while i did make "fanart" of the show, i do not support that in the slighest. the creators of that show using ai for their theme music, character design, allegedly their scripts; it's all something i do not stand for and it is a huge shame on them.
personally i dont really watch youtube shorts (both because tiktok is more than enough of 15 second 9:16 videos and because of the sheer amount of slop, effortless, spam videos that get shoved into those algorithms) but the fact that ai has been taking over youtube is just so fucking miserable and the fact that it is literally bringing elsagate 2.0 is horrific.
ai having no real limitations is terrible. ive heard more than enough about the content being pushed toward children but also content being made OF children. in no world should that be legal and the fact that people are allowed to make explicit and/or fetishy content directed toward or featuring children is completely fucking unacceptable.
gtfo if you support all the generative ai bullshit being slapped onto the internet. as an artist and as a viewer of art i cannot support that shit. please support real artists. from the beginners to the professionals, from the small to the large, from the ones you think are dogshit to the ones you think have a skill blessed by God himself, support your fucking artists. companies turning to and siding with manipulated stolen slop deserve the flack.
ai is impressive in the sense that is has improved immensely in the past few years and it is chilling to see how more accurately and cleanly it can create things these days. sometimes it's funny or interesting, but this development should be being used for good, for support, for growth and helping humanity instead of just leeching off of creators and talented people and kicking them out of their jobs.
(ai also needs to not be making huge user decisions like changing your age / maturity settings or filtering, deleting, and striking for content but that's another rant for another day.)
things need to be better. we need to be above this. fuck generative ai.
