Tech & Social Media Economics
My name is Hari and this channel is centered around explaining the economics of tech and social media. These sectors are generally analyzed through the lenses of finance and economics to determine which industries and companies will thrive and which will fall. In addition to this analysis, my content is often focused on the stories of various famous entrepreneurs such as Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos. I also cover the rise and fall of several interesting companies and services that we come across on a day-to-day basis. There have been so many companies that have risen to fame and then died out in a single generation. The most interesting companies are the ones that were able to save themselves and avoid bankruptcy. Feel free to subscribe if you would like to see any of these topics Logically Answered. Also special thanks to my editors flick5832, imrikon, and vvsnet (Discord)!

For those of y'all following along with the Nvidia short story, I completely exited my short position this morning. Please check the pinned comment on the video for the details.
I still believe that Nvidia will continue trending down towards $50 by 2027, but having shed $1.179T in market cap within the last 42 trading days, I personally felt that it was a good opportunity to lock in profits. Will consider re-entering a short position if the right entry point arises.
I wanted to make this post for those that are curious after the Nvidia video and for historical record purposes. It is not my intent to create FUD or influence anyone's buying or selling decision. This is NOT financial advice.
Also, once again, this is not anti Nvidia. Nvidia is an extraordinary company and I don't think there's anyone better than Jensen Huang to lead the company long-term. This is simply anti Nvidia's stock price.
Please be safe out there guys :)

There has been a big update to the Nvidia position. Please check the pinned comment on the video for the update.

I want to highly emphasize that this is extremely dangerous and could easily go very wrong. This is NOT financial advice. In fact, I would suggest that you view this as a dumb guy doing dumb stuff and just enjoy the entertainment value of whatever happens.
Also, this is not anti Nvidia. Nvidia is an extraordinary company and I don't think there's anyone better than Jensen Huang to lead the company long-term. This is simply anti Nvidia's stock price.

Hey guys, real talk. As many of ya'll know, I haven't done a single paid sponsorship or integration on this channel throughout its entire 7-year history. The idea was that I would only promote products and companies that were my own.
As such, we've been including integrations of my startup Silo, a marketplace to buy bonds, on the channel over the past year. Speaking frankly though, the sentiment and reception on this channel have not been great. Interestingly though, conversions have been extremely strong on niche financial channels. Just goes to show that this might not be the right audience for Silo integrations.
On that note, I wanted to get y'alls honest thoughts on the future of integrations on this channel. Feel free to leave comments with expanded thoughts. I will be reading every comment :)

Thank you guys so much for your support on our modern bond investing platform: Silo! With fed rate cuts around the corner, locking in current yields for the long term is more important than ever.
On that note, we're running an exclusive promotion that allows you to lock in a 7.39% yield from the US government with a 3% bonus from us! The offer is only available for the first $1 million in deposits. Hope to see you guys there!

We're about to hit 2 massive milestones on the channel! 600,000 subscribers and 1,000 uploads!
So far, every single piece of content you see on the channel was written by me :) As we look to take things to the next level though, we're looking to hire a scriptwriter for a portion of the videos.
If you would like to apply, please email me with 3 topics, titles, and thumbnail ideas along with an intro section of ~360 words for one of these ideas. The key factors that we are looking for are ideation, packaging, storytelling, and most importantly: how well your suggestions fit within the channel's style and niche.
We're not looking for freelancers but rather long-term business partners. Looking forward to seeing your submissions! Email is jhariharan72@gmail.com.
Thank you guys so much for getting us to this point! It truly means the world!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 500,000 SUBSCRIBERS!! We're officially closer to a million subscribers than no subscribers! This is truly a dream come true!
I'm ecstatic to announce that one of my other dreams is also coming to fruition. As you may already know, we've been working on a fintech app behind the scenes for the past 19 months and we're almost ready to launch!
With interest rates on the rise and the market being saturated with trading apps and crypto apps, we wanted to take the exact opposite approach: give risk-averse investors a way to invest and grow their capital. If you haven't guessed already, this is of course with fixed-income investing and more specifically corporate and government bonds.
If you're not familiar with bonds, they give you an opportunity to lend your money to the federal government and the top corporations in the world like Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Nvidia. This money helps these institutions with expansion efforts, R&D, and growth. In return, they'll pay you back with interest. Government bonds are currently paying up to 5% and investment-grade corporate bonds are paying up to 9%.
Savvy investors and cash-rich companies have been taking advantage of bonds for centuries to earn better returns on their cash. In fact, coming into 2023, Warren Buffett held nearly $100 billion in treasury bills. Similarly, Apple was holding $144.6 billion, Google was holding $113.8 billion, and Microsoft was holding $104.4 billion in marketable securities. Most of this is treasury bills/notes/bonds as well as bonds from other corporations.
If locking in high-interest rates for the long term just like these guys sounds enticing, that's where our upcoming bond-investing iOS app, Silo, comes into play. We are planning to start letting US residents into the app around mid-November. If you'd like to support us and earn high-interest rates in the process, please consider joining our waitlist below.

Once again, thank you guys for all your support over the past several years, and I will see you on the next video!

Hey guys, as you may know, we’ve been working on a fintech platform for a little over a year now, and I’m excited to say that we’re almost to the finish line!
We’re looking for a software engineering candidate that’s well versed with SwiftUI, Typescript, Firebase, and financial markets (preferably located in the US). Specifically, we want someone who has 5+ years of experience and has prior big tech or fintech experience.
In terms of compensation, we are looking for people interested in $120k-$180k revenue sharing post-launch along with equity. We are willing to negotiate more compensation for highly experienced candidates (L6/L7 FAANG).
Feel free to send us your resume even if you don’t perfectly fit these criteria. Please reach out to jhariharan72@gmail.com if you’d be interested in potentially joining the team on a part-time or full-time basis :)
