THE HEROES OF AFRICA AWARDS. The Heroes of Africa Awards recognize outstanding individuals making a positive impact through philanthropy, leadership, business, peacebuilding, and community service across Africa. The awards celebrate changemakers dedicated to transforming lives and inspiring society. After receiving an international award at the House of Lords, British Parliament in the UK last year, last night I was deeply honoured to receive yet another recognition as one of the Heroes of Africa for my philanthropy and humanitarian work at KICC, here in Nairobi As the Good Deed Ambassador President and a proud philanthropist in Kenya, I have learnt that true leadership is not about titles or power. Leadership is about compassion. It is about touching lives, wiping tears, feeding the hungry, paying school fees for children, visiting the sick, and giving hope to those who feel abandoned. I thank God for this achievement and dedicate this award to the great people of Kenya, to every young person struggling to achieve their dreams, and to all humanitarian workers across Africa who sacrifice daily to save lives and restore dignity to others. You are the true heroes. Other distinguished honourees included former Prime Minister the late Raila Amollo Odinga, Ida Odinga, Apst. Dr. Sunday Ojile, Mr. Bhupendra Kumar, Mr. Varun Arora, and Dr. Ezekiel Mutua, among many other great African leaders and change makers. To God be the glory

Our young girls and students must first be guided, mentored, protected, and empowered to finish school, earn their degrees, and build their futures before being dragged into dirty politics. We spoke openly about the painful realities affecting students today — mental health, GBV, welfare challenges, and the heartbreaking killings of innocent young university students, especially young women with very bright futures ahead of them. Enough is enough. These lives matter. We also encouraged responsible living, faithfulness, and the importance of protecting their future while still in school. As NEDP we promised to continue standing with these students through mentorship programs, retreats, forums, and continuous engagement with professionals and experts. We have already opened a WhatsApp platform where we shall continue interacting and supporting one another daily. Together, we can protect, mentor, and build a stronger generation of future leaders.
The devil is defeated. Baby Talisha is only four years old. At such a tender age, no child should ever witness the horror of seeing her own mother killed before her eyes. But that became her painful reality when her mother, Anita, lost her life in the most heartbreaking way. Last week, we laid Anita to rest in Nanyuki. Captain Edwin is currently in custody at Mathare Mental Hospital. The pain, trauma, and wounds left behind can never truly be explained. Today, baby Talisha visited my office accompanied by her two aunties and her Nanny, Winnie who was also in the house on that tragic day. Looking at this innocent child broke my heart deeply. A child who should only know love, laughter, toys, and bedtime stories is now growing up with memories no child deserves to carry. But the devil has failed. I am preparing to do shopping for food, snacks, and back-to-school items for baby Talisha. I will also personally ensure her school fees is paid so she can continue studying at Shah Lalji Nanpar academy International School in Nakuru and pursue her dreams despite the pain she has gone through. May God become the father and mother she has lost. May He heal her little heart, wipe away her tears, protect her innocence, and surround her with love, peace, and comfort all the days of her life. Anita, continue resting in peace. I never got the chance to know you personally, but I promise you this: your daughter will not suffer while I am alive. God placed a responsibility in my heart to stand with the oppressed, protect the vulnerable, and give hope to those left broken by life. May God protect, guide, and bless baby Talisha always.
Earlier today, after dropping baby Talisha back to school in Nakuru, together with the family of the late Anita, we paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Susan Kihika and her husband H.E. Sam Mburu to personally express our heartfelt appreciation for their generous support during the impromptu online fundraising I personally cc conducted that helped meet Anita’s funeral expenses. 🙏 H.E. Susan Kihika contributed Ksh 400,000, while the first gentleman Sam Mburu, a prominent businessman based in Nakuru and Kanairo, contributed Ksh 200,000. Hon. Irene Njoki, MP Bahati, also sent Ksh 50,000 via M-Pesa in support of the family. The family of Anita conveyed deep gratitude for the love, solidarity, and support shown during such a painful moment. These are the moments that remind us of the strength of community, compassion, and togetherness. We sincerely thank the Governor, her family, Hon. Irene Njoki, and everyone who stood with Anita’s family either financially or in prayers. May God bless you abundantly for your kindness and support.
We never take these cases lightly. We follow through, no matter how long it takes. Na hapa ndipo naamini baraka nyingi hutoka. Baby Kyla was born blind she had never seen light, never seen the world. When her case reached me, we refused to give up on her. We took her to India several times, held onto faith and today, she can see. That miracle will always stay in my heart. Since then, we have continued to stand with her supporting her education, her health, and her future. Today, I got her essentials and ordered new glasses after the ones she received in India weakened after 9 years. Baby Kyla, your life is a testimony. Your future is bright. You are loved, and you will never walk alone.
LEAVE KIDS OUT OF YOUR FIGHTS Let it be known: Violence in front of children destroys them long before the world sees the damage. It shatters their emotional stability, fills them with fear and confusion, and if not stopped early, it shapes them into wounded, aggressive adults carrying scars they never deserved. These two innocent boys are my own grandsons — whom we rescued, together with their mother, my daughter Salma Mbuvi, from their home in Kitee. If this can happen in my family, how many more Kenyan children are suffering silently? This must be a national wake-up call. If we truly care about our children’s future, we must condemn violence — loudly, boldly, and without compromise. A peaceful home is the strongest foundation any child can receive. Just imagine a child watching violence against their own mother. It doesn’t just break a home — it breaks their innocence, their safety, and their trust in the world. Children see. Children feel. Children remember. And when they finally speak, their truth is pure, honest, and impossible to ignore. Enjoy the rest of your day.
