India Semiconductor Mission
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) is an independent institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. It is the nodal agency for the Semicon India Programme to develop a sustainable and globally competitive semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem in India. ISM is responsible for evaluating proposals, facilitating technology partnerships, coordinating with central and state governments, and managing fiscal incentive disbursals. The mission’s core objective is to establish India as a trusted global hub for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, ensuring economic security and technological self-reliance.

CEO ISM presented India's Semiconductor Journey and way forward, followed by sharing remarkable success story of the Maruti Suzuki partnership in India—an enduring symbol of India–Japan industrial collaboration—and shared a forward-looking vision for the semiconductor ecosystem.
The high-level delegation spotlighted India’s progressive Semiconductor Policy, expanding opportunities across the entire semiconductor value chain, strong manufacturing and technology collaborations, and the growing momentum of public–private partnerships. These discussions underscored India’s readiness to emerge as a trusted global hub for semiconductor manufacturing and innovation at SEMICON Japan 2025.
