Some pictures of the masterclasses at Bolton Guitar Studies for The University of Arizona. 🎸🇺🇸. Led by Professor Tom Patterson, Bolton Guitar Studies has established a remarkable tradition in classical guitar, with artists-in-residence including David Russell and Sergio and Odair Assad. Very happy to be now also Artist in residence.

Together with the Tucson Guitar Society, Bolton Guitar Studies has helped build a vibrant classical guitar community in Tucson, bringing together education, performance and a shared passion for the instrument. My sincere thanks to Julia Pernet, Chairman of the Tucson Guitar Society, for her dedication and continued support of this musical community.

Teaching is something I truly enjoy — sharing what I have learned throughout my own journey, while discovering the remarkable talent and musical voices of a new generation of guitarists.

Thanks everybody in Tucson! 🌵🎸

BIG NEWS❗️For the first time in my career, I will premiere a concerto written especially for me. On October 22 in São Paulo, I will perform the WORLD PREMIERE of “Alturas: Concierto Latinoamericano for Guitar and Orchestra”, a new work by Daniel Freiberg.

GRAMMY-winning composer Daniel Freiberg, born in Buenos Aires and based in New York, has developed a distinctive musical voice bringing together classical music, jazz and Latin American traditions. His career includes collaborations with Paquito D’Rivera, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Pacho Flores and the WDR Funkhausorchester.

ALTURAS brings these musical worlds together, placing the guitar at the heart of a dialogue inspired by the rhythms, landscapes and traditions of Latin America.

I am especially excited to share it with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo and maestro Thierry Fischer at Sala São Paulo. 🇧🇷

This October, I travel to Tucson for two performances with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and Music Director José Luis Gómez, performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez. 🇪🇸🇺🇸

It feels particularly special to perform this masterpiece of the Spanish repertoire in Arizona during Hispanic Heritage Month.
I look forward to reuniting with José Luis Gómez for our second collaboration.
