Rajab is the 7th month in the Islamic Hijri calendar and one of the four sacred months, along with Dhul-Qi’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram. It is also the month in which the journey of Isra and Miraj took place, when the Prophet (PBUH) was taken from Makkah to Jerusalem and then through the seven heavens.
The special significance of Rajab means that good deeds are of greater value, while sins also weigh more during this sacred month. It is encouraged to increase ibadat, recite the Quran more and ask for forgiveness, making Rajab a time to build spiritual connection before Ramadan begins.
