A New Year, A Deeper Understanding

This year didn’t give me everything I asked for.
But it gave me everything I needed.

I learned that not every delay is rejection.
Some delays are protection.

It taught me that peace does not come from people,
from attention,
or from having everything figured out.
Peace comes from trusting Allah, even when the path is unclear.

This year taught me patience in moments I wanted to give up.
It taught me silence when words could not heal.
And it taught me that dua is not a last option—
it is the strongest weapon a believer has.

I lost things I thought I needed.
I faced tests I didn’t expect.
But every loss pulled me closer to Allah.
Every test reminded me that I was never alone.

I learned that not every delay is a punishment.
Some delays are protection.
Some unanswered prayers are Allah’s mercy.

I am not perfect.
I fall. I struggle. I make mistakes.
But this year taught me to return to Allah again and again—
because His door is always open.

As this new year begins,
I don’t ask for an easy life.
I ask for a strong heart,
firm faith,
and a soul that never forgets Allah.

Ya Allah, keep me close to You. Always.
