This is our Exchequer Leghorn rooster — bold, beautiful, and carrying some seriously important genetics. Exchequers are a rare heritage breed known for their striking black-and-white pattern, excellent foraging ability, and strong, productive lines. They’re not just pretty… they actually do something.
He’s alert, curious, and fully convinced he’s in charge of the ranch. (I let him believe that. It’s fine.)
Breeds like this deserve to be preserved — not just admired from afar. At Paragon Hatchery, we raise birds with purpose, history, and heart. If a chicken has survived generations of real farm life, it’s earned its spot here.

Say hello to my Vorwerk flock — part classic German elegance, part feathery sass, and I am 100% convinced they are as flighty as Leghorns!
Fun fact: Vorwerks are a rare, dual-purpose breed known for their beautiful black-and-gold coloring, excellent egg-laying, and surprisingly bold personalities for their size.
Translation: they’re tiny, but they WILL boss the bigger chickens around. 🏰🐓
These little dynamos remind me that size doesn’t matter when you’ve got confidence… or gorgeous feathers. They’re friendly, curious, and perfect for anyone who wants a rare, hardy, and highly entertaining flock.
