Welcome to the Theme Parchive, a channel about theme parks (you probably guessed that from the terrible portmanteau name).
We are currently posting two series of videos: our Archives series and Sightlines series. The Archives explores the history of specific theme parks, focusing on the stories of the people who made them. Sightlines is a series discussing theme parks from design, engineering, artistic, and historic perspectives, with topics ranging from the broad (What is a theme park?) to the narrow (the history of the Omnimover ride system).

We've got something special coming May 1st. In making the music for the final episode for the Knott's Berry Farm series, I also ended up making an entire album's worth of instrumental music. We'll be losing out on money this way, but luckily we have some great supporters over on Patreon that more than make up the difference. Thank them next time you watch one of our videos and there's no ad in the middle.

One year ago, on October 1st, we released our first video - episode 1 of the Archives series covering the history of Disneyland. In that first month, that video and the first Sightlines video got 200 views - combined. We had 10 subs, most of whom were probably family and friends. Today, we've had well over fifty thousand views across the 24 videos we've released, and we're nearing 750 subscribers. We cannot thank you all enough for your support and encouragement over the last year, especially those supporting us on Patreon. In a few hours, we're releasing a supercut of that entire Disneyland series, in one 2 hour video, to celebrate.

Hey, friends!
There's been a big change for the channel since we last released a video: we now have the option for channel memberships! This recurring support is similar to our offerings on Patreon, now with the convenience of not having to leave the YouTube platform.
Patreon is still the better choice - the support levels are more affordable, they get a few extra perks, and more of your support comes directly to the channel. But here on YouTube, channel members get these cool new emojis I stayed up an entire night making (see pinned comment below). They also get a cool little symbol beside their username when they comment. This upgrades over time to show how long members have been supporting us, and each version is based on a design similar to that first emoji.
And for those of you that want to help the channel, but don't want to commit to a monthly membership, you can now hit the "Thanks!" button on any video and support us with a one time gift.
Don't worry - nothing is going away from the channel with these changes. The regular Archives and Sightlines videos will still be available for everyone, and will be releasing on the same schedule as always (at least through October). Members will just be getting some added benefits, like access to exclusive videos, behinds the scenes updates, weird stories we find during research that don't really fit in videos, Q&As, and a bunch of other stuff (most of which were already available to the Patreon crew).
New episode of the Knott's series drops this Friday, but it's been available for Members for several days already.
