On February 24, 2022, Russia began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, triggering a war on the ground and an online information war. The FRANCE 24 Observers team debunked 115 pieces of misinformation in the last year. We took a closer look at some of the narratives and themes that have emerged on both sides as battles continue both on the frontline and online.
Sonnedix Gabon had already scammed a number of investors before it disappeared without a trace in January. But our Observer Boursier Tchibinda was already on the case.
Since 2014, a group of Muslim students living in Daegu, South Korea have been meeting to pray at a home near their university. In late 2020, they got permission to fix up the house and turn it into a mosque to better accommodate Muslims in the area. But their plans have been hampered by resistance from locals which has, at times, turned into open Islamophobia.
