Fingerprint analysis is a form of biometrics, a science that uses unique physical characteristics for identification.
📌 Level 1 involves pattern configuration, ridge flow direction, delta count, and position, used for initial classification and exclusion of suspects.
📌 Level 2 examines minutiae characteristics like ridge endings and bifurcations, serving as the primary basis for individualization and courtroom identification.
📌 Level 3 provides scientific reinforcement by studying fine details such as the size and shape of sweat pores (poroscopy) and ridge edge characteristics (edgeoscopy).
Fingerprints are unique to each individual and do not change over time unless the deep layer of skin is destroyed.

Narco Analysis, also called “The Truth Serum” test or “Amytal Interview,” is a controversial forensic technique that uses drugs like Sodium Pentothal or Sodium Amytal to induce a sleep‑like trance in a subject.
Key points:
1. Method: Involves administering anesthetic drugs to create a trance state for interrogation.
2. Reliability: Does not guarantee truthful answers; subjects may fantasize or lie even under drug influence.
3. Admissibility: Evidence obtained through narco analysis is generally not admissible in court unless supported by independent corroboration.
4. Risks: Incorrect drug administration can cause health complications, coma, or death.
5. Usage: Typically reserved for high‑profile cases where traditional interrogation fails due to suspect resistance.
6. Example: Mentioned in the Godhra Carnage (2002) case.
