Tonight, in honour of my beautiful mom, i wanted to post this song I wrote in her memory all those years ago.
It’s been 15 years tonight — sometimes it feels like an eternity since we were together, and other days it feels like no time has passed at all. She missed so much — my whole kids lives— and for that my heart still breaks for all the days and memories and dreams that could have been. They say time heals, and it does, but the ache and longing for my mom has never gone away and I don’t think it ever will — you were my mother, my first love, my best friend, my whole heart, and my home. You were my unconditional love. I miss you so much mom. And I will love you forever. No matter where I go, or what I do, you will always be in my heart. ❤️ Your spirit lives on inside me.
