I got a copyright claim for one of my videos. It was for drone footage used that I got from a paid subscription service that I am in good standing with. (a subscription service where drone operators upload their videos for literally the use case of videos like mine). The claimant isn't even the owner of the material, but is using AI data mining to try to fish for potential claims in hopes the content creator won't respond. If I were to not have noticed or not have disputed it, the revenue then goes to the claimant by default. This has been a major problem with big music channels having to do these disputes quite often, but to see it coming down on drone footage for midsize channels like mine isn't encouraging.

I'm going to be posting a follow-up video to my previous one about examining an atlas from 1936. It didn't exactly get a million views, but those that watched it seemed interested in a more detailed look at the atlas. Non-geography post here. I've been seeing a lot of videos in my watch history that I definitely did not watch. Nothing sketchy, but they tend to be the videos on my homepage recommendations or of channels I'm subscribed to, but nonetheless I definitely did NOT watch those videos in my history. This has been going on for about 4 days now. It wasn't a case of them being in a playlist that autoplayed or the YouTube rabbit hole of continuous videos. It wasn't a case of hovering over the thumbnails for a few seconds either. I've done research on this, and the remedies are usually to log out, delete cookies, restart, blah blah, but that didn't work. I've noticed this happening across multiple devices, whether logged in as Geography King or California View. I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this. Is it a glitch where the videos aren't actually counting as views but showing up in history? Or is it actually counting these as views without my consent? This is a bit concerning as a viewer and as a creator. I've seen literally nothing about this, so I have to assume for now that it's just me or it's just a little-known issue, but I'd love any feedback/advice.

On Wednesday I drove 11 hours to Port St. Lucie, FL to pick up a dream purchase I found on ebay, then ate some conch chowder and had a paloma. Yesterday I spent the entire day driving back with the purchase. I'm going to make a short video where I talk about what I bought. Expect a very clickbaity title and an underwhelming payoff.
