If you want the best information on U.S. geography and cross-country road tripping on the web, this is the channel for you. On this channel you'll see videos that compare and contrast various places in the U.S., ranking the best and worst cities and states in different categories and profiles of individual cities and states. Also on this channel are videos about the best ways to road trip, the best places to see for short visits, and general travel info from a nerdy perspective. I've been on more than 20 cross-country road trips this century and have learned a lot through the years. I'd like to share some of what I've learned to help make your road trip as successful as possible. Thanks for visiting my channel and Happy Travels!

Check out this $50 thrift store find. I've dated it to 1972-73 with Bangladesh and UAE being independent but not Guinea-Bissau or the Bahamas. Despite being over 50 years old, it's in great shape. Almost as if no one ever spun it or even touched it much. The surface is clean, no smudges, and the raised relief feels great. The stand is actual metal (brass?), unlike the plastic one of my recent desktop globe from 2024. It's always interesting to see so many old country names on older maps.

Same question as the previous poll but with different choices. If you had to live in a penthouse condo in a residential high rise in one of these cities, which of the following would you choose?

I know it's not everyone's desired way of life, but if you had to live in a penthouse condo in a residential high rise in a city, which of the following would you choose? (purposefully leaving off the biggest ones)

Hey everyone. I'm going to be posting a video later today that is about gerrymandering and map manipulation. Based on that and my previous video, I don't want people thinking that the channel is turning into political stuff, but I do think that gerrymandering is something that there is going to be a lot of discussion of in the coming months and I feel that things are only going to escalate. I've gotten several messages and emails requesting this specific topic, which is unusual to see many requests of one specific topic. There will be a lot of talk about if from political hotheads, so I wanted to get something out that is partisan unbiased but showing the tactics used to manipulate the map and with examples of me breaking down a state that currently has fair maps but drawing them geographically to favor a political party. There will be no discussion of swaying congress, political policies or issues (other than the issue of gerrymandering itself). I don't normally spoil upcoming topics, but in this case I want to let people know that the videos afterward will be on "Lake Cities & Towns in the US Not on a Great Lake" and "Promising Downtown Projects" discussing exciting projects in cities that are already underway. There's no shortage of niche geography content, so expect more of that. All of this to say- don't unsubscribe after today!

Not specifically these scenarios in the images, but which of these types of places would you prefer for a week of "getting away from it all" (minus the horror movie cliches)

With unlimited income and a job that you could do from anywhere, which of the following would you choose? I know that there are people that would want to live in another country, but for this I want to know where people would choose domestically.

With seemingly everything being so politically polarizing, I find it interesting that some of the most desirable states are ones that are close to right-down-the-middle on the political spectrum. If you had to move to one of the following 50/50 states, which would it be?
