Think you can’t fit a full shower in a mid-roof van? Think again! 🚿🚐

We just wrapped up a tour of "The Nook"—a custom Ford Transit 148 mid-roof build by Sequoia and Salt. The challenge was simple but tough: fit a full-sized lifestyle (including a shower and a cat litter box!) into a smaller, more maneuverable footprint while staying on budget.
We love hearing from you, and your feedback really highlights why this build is a "Grand Slam" for weekenders:
• The "Invisible" Shower: Many of you pointed out how clever the magnetic shower pan and curtain system is. It provides the luxury of an indoor shower [06:04] without sacrificing floor space to a bulky permanent enclosure [12:37].
• Engineering for the Smallest Spaces: As Patrick noted, "the smaller you go, the more challenging the engineering becomes" [13:17]. You guys noticed the smart use of a bamboo countertop with an inset induction stove to maximize prep space [08:13].
• The "Litter Box" Win: For the pet travelers out there, the dedicated cat litter box drawer was a huge hit! [08:22].
• The "Buy what you need now" philosophy: We loved the discussion around starting with the essentials and expanding later [03:13]. It makes custom van life so much more accessible.

The MEGA Airstream is getting a massive safety upgrade. While the 1997 Airstream B190 4x4 is built for adventure, the factory F350 front brakes were never truly designed to handle a 10,500-pound camper van with ease. To fix that, I’m installing the SSBC-USA V8-Barbarian Brake Kit.
Why the SSBC V8 Kit?
This isn’t just a standard pad swap; it’s a complete transformation in clamping force. Here’s why this kit is a game-changer for heavy-duty rigs:
• 8-Piston Calipers: Moving from the stock 2-piston setup to 8 massive stainless steel pistons per caliper provides incredible pressure distribution and stopping power.
• Billet Aluminum Construction: Machined in the USA from aircraft-grade T6061 billet aluminum for maximum strength and weight savings.
• Heat Management: Large bore pistons and high-friction, low-dust semi-metallic pads help eliminate the brake fade that usually happens on long descents.
• Direct Fit: Engineered to bolt directly onto the stock spindles and work seamlessly with the factory hydraulics and ABS.
Safety is the #1 priority when you’re off-grid or hauling through the mountains. With this V8 kit, I’m finally getting the confidence I need to bring this beast to a halt.
