As a session musician and producer with over 13 years of live and studio experience, I help producers bring more life and dynamics into their productions by providing soulful instrument tracks.

I have lots of really cool music-first stuff planned out for the channel in the coming weeks. Anything specific you would like to see mixed in there?

Producers! Where do you feel the most friction when making music?

By the way, if you want to stop fighting to make your tracks feel human, I put together some live-performed drum loops that allow you to drag-and-drop human feel into your DAW. You can check it out here: linkly.link/2YktC

One of the most difficult things to teach producers is “feel.”

“How do I make my tracks feel *alive*?” “Why do my tracks feel *robotic*?”

It took me years of not only producing music, but playing in live and studio sessions with OTHER musicians to play with more “feel”

I made 50 soulful drum tracks for exactly this purpose.

Rather than “emulating” feel, I captured it behind the kit.

If that’s something you would benefit from, I’ll link it here: linkly.link/2Ykt8

Got some snow this weekend (which MAYBE happens once a year where I’m from). Anyone else?

This ONE realization changed the way I approach music (for the better)

Great drums don’t distract from the rest of the arrangement.

They often hold the track together, but leave room for other elements to have focus.

My favorite drum tracks have hints of humanity, which keeps “simple” from feeling “robotic.”

Honestly, that’s the heart behind my new session drum pack. Soulful performances, but with more flexibility for producers.
