"...I found myself in a lonely place with a suitcase full of dreams
And soon grew up to realise what living in the doghouse means
But everyday I told myself good things would happen soon
'Cause I knew that I was going to be a legend in my living room..."
— Legend In My Living Room, Annie Lennox/Peter-John Vettese

One of the best pop albums of the 20th century celebrates its 29th anniversary next month: the Annie Lennox's debut solo album, Diva — which is a timeless classic, with exquisite, profound and uplifting songs from beginning to end. This masterpiece has been inspiring me since I was very young, mainly because it turns human tragedy into art, translating deep emotions into words and melody so beautifully. My favourite track from Diva is definitely The Gift, it is also my favourite song by Annie.

Day to wish Miss Annie Lennox a very happy 66th birthday. In 2020, three times she unexpectedly made my day replying to my comments on her IG posts. Each time I received a notification, 'suddenly my heart went boom' haha. Lennox has been my inspiration in every way since my teenage years. Her songs and words always cheered and lifted me up. So much more than a great artist, singer, songwriter, performer and multi-award-winner, she has been the epitome of a purposeful journey. What I admire about her is not just the authenticity, the musical talent or the artistic expression, it also includes the profound willingness to advocate for advance human rights and environmental protection on a global basis, as well as for inspiring people to be good persons, good world citizens, to become their best selves from day to day. Just like she used to say, no one is perfect, and I don't mean to project she is perfect at all, nonetheless, it's important to recognise exceptional individuals as a way to encourage positive change.

Yay, thanks to a special friend of mine, 10 years later, now I had the chance to get hold of this lovely Christmas album, which was released by Annie Lennox on 12th of November 2010. Seems like this year the lights out there are a fascinating reminder to renew our hope. We're all looking for a sign that will tell us everything's going to be alright, aren't we?
