With this update comes a ton of new and old fans excited to try out the update. And with this excitement there also comes a lot of congestion/slow download speed on the server.
So please bear with us: We have checksums for the downloads and if a download gets interrupted, the checksum becomes mismatched and will cancel that package download (meaning you have to try again). Because the servers are so congested right now, download interruptions will be common.
We'd rather have this check in place and to require a re-download to ensure you're not getting a bad/interrupted package vs. having you download an incomplete package that bugs the game out when used.
Once congestion eases up and downloads are stable again, we can remove checksums.

The next major update release for Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition is slated for sometime next month (February)! Soft shadows, special FX, and so much more await you...
The next major release for Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition is right around the corner, releasing late evening on Wednesday, April 17th.
High-res fonts, an improved flashlight, restored controller vibration, improved environments, restored lighting effects, a more simplified installation guide, and much more await you in this update.
Keep an eye out on our Twitter page to know the minute when this update releases. As always, an update video will release on this channel to coincide with the release of this update, which will go over in detail what all this update fixes and further enhances. There will also be a short FAQ session at the end of this video in regards to future project goals, so stay tuned until the end!
