Do you agree with this mid season driver rating from Formula 1?
Personally I don't, there is no way Max Verstappen is only 0.1 over Lando Norris. These are averages over the last 14 races and shows some scores haven't been appropriate.
I personally would rate Charles higher than he currently is.
For more context below is the top 10 rankings from The Race:
1. Max Verstappen 2. Charles Leclerc 3. Lando Norris 4. Carlos Sainz 5. Oscar Piastri 6. George Russell 7. Lewis Hamilton 8. Nico Hulkenberg 9. Fernando Alonso 10. Yuki Tsunoda
🇧🇪George Russell wins the Belgium GP. His excellent call to run a one stop and some extraordinary tyre whispering skills helped him to keep his teammate Lewis Hamilton behind. - Lewis Hamilton is P2 but at one stage looked like he could go on to win the race after he overtook Sergio Perez off the line. - Oscar Piastri secured the final podium position in P3 and was agonizingly close to catching the Mercedes pair. - Behind in terms of the drivers championship, Max Verstappen kept Lando Norris behind for P5, he kept him behind for nearly the whole race to outscore his nearest championship rival.
🇭🇺 Oscar Piastri wins his first ever race at the Hungarian grand prix. It wouldn't feel great because it was messy and definitely avoidable from McLaren. Lando was pitted first from P2 and under cut his teammate. Oscar was promised that he would get the position back. He didn't until lap 68. - Lando Norris is P2 to get an impressive 1-2 for McLaren. He didn't want to give the place back, arguing that he has to finish ahead due to his championship fight with Max Verstappen who was '84' points ahesd - Lewis Hamilton gets his 200th career podium after undercutting Max Verstappen in the first stint. He defended against him for two different stints until they finally came together, which he ruled a racing incident - Charles Leclerc finished P4, however he was on course to finish P5 but took advantage of the crash between Max and Lewis - Max Verstappen could have finished P3. He had to pace to catch Lewis but not to really pass him. He was frustrated with the strategy the whole race and definitely lost it this race. Him and GP were going back and forth a lot until finally it all boiled over with is crash with Lewis Hamilton. He sent it too late into turn 1, locking up and flying over lewis's rear tyre. - Carlos Sainz finishes P6 for Ferrari. He started ahead of Lewis and Leclerc but lost out at the race start. - Sergio Perez and George Russell recovered back to finish P7 and P8 after a disastrous qualifying. - Yuki Tsunoda once again shone for RB. He started ahead of his teammate but still managed to finish in the points. - Lance Stroll managed to salvage the final point for Aston Martin in P10 - This race was more like reality TV. Frustrating overtaking attempts, gold team radios and some head loss. 7/10
