Sharing this here because I agree with it. The video nails what went wrong. There was a real chance to show how one broken person could ripple outward and damage family, community, and culture — and how exploitation and profit turned that tragedy into an industry. Instead, the series leaned into drama and fetish and skipped the accountability and cultural impact that actually mattered.
What could’ve been a critique of exploitation became another layer of exploitation — repackaging the story without clarity or responsibility. The disappointment isn’t that the story was told, but that it wasn’t told with any courage.
