Hawaii volcano national park update

💨extremely voggy at kilauea summit
🌋the national park is open BUT only the west side up until KMC
⚠️the highway (hwy 11) is open in both directions
✈️hilo airport is open

there was lots of tephra smothering the sidewalks on the west side of the caldera. i know HVNP is working hard to remove all the fallout and get parking lots and roads open again. i wonder how long it will take.

I saw some pieces of tephra that were low key scary. like basketball sized chunks! i am glad i came here to cruise around and give thanks today🌋✨
