What are your thoughts on the newly announced Kawasaki KLE500? Is this finally the modernized, twin-cylinder KLR650 replacement so many have been asking for?
I will release a video in a few days comparing key specs and features to the competition and sharing my thoughts on the bike's design.
Has anyone found a weight figure listed anywhere? I have not been able to find that yet. If I had to guess, I'd say around 440 lb or 199 kg (wet).

My time with the KTM 390 Adventure R is coming to an end soon, to allow the time/funding to review new bikes. However, there are a few more episodes coming out: Episode 4 focuses on vibration reduction, adding power, fixing small issues, and addressing suspension. Episode 5 will offer a direct head to head comparison with the 890 Adventure R, and Episode 6 will offer comparisons to direct competitors like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and CFMOTO Ibex 450 (450MT).
Thanks to @blackdogcycleworks for sending out their rear cargo rack (pictured), which installs easily and addresses the glaring omission of any rack or attachment points from the factory.
I have been testing the Powertronics FuelX Pro to improve low end response, the Mako360 from XC Gear and Motion Footpegs from Motion Factory Racing to reduce felt vibrations, and more I'll address in coming episodes.

I truly believe KTM's new 390 Enduro, which I've just started testing, is going to steal a TON of sales from the competition. Why? Because for $5499 USD, you get 44 horsepower, fully adjustable suspension that actually works, switchable TC and ABS that remember your settings, a 6 speed gearbox with available quickshifter, a TFT dash, a decent seat that's not like having a 2x4 up your bum, legit off road ability, and a pretty comfortable 75 mph highway cruising capability.
It's a true dual sport, not an enduro bike with blinkers like a 500EXC. Use it to commute during the week, rip up the trails on the weekend. It's priced right and is super fun to ride on and off road.

Updates on the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R project bike:
➕Power: I have installed the Powertronic Fuel X Pro fuel tuner. It runs better at low RPM with better response and less stalling/flame out. I am also adding a DNA high flow air filter to see if that helps add even more power. These mods don't really increase peak power output (despite some misleading advertising claims), but give you better throttle response and low-mid range power.
➕Clunking noise. It is coming from the swingarm pivot area, but nothing is loose that I can find. It's nothing to do with the (amazing) Black Dog skid plate or anything else I've added.
➕Kickstand. I glued a magnet to the sensor, to trick it into thinking the kickstand is always up. This is not an "approved" fix by KTM of course, but it works. KTM have released an updated spring, to supposedly help with the issue (I have not tried it yet). The random stalling / flame outs were not to do with the kickstand sensor, that is a fueling issue (see above).
➕Suspension. I've been bottoming out the rear shock when going over jumps or riding faster, which this bike loves to do. I am taking in my rear shock (removal is super simple) to my local suspension guru to have the spring changed to a higher rate. I am pretty happy with the forks.
➕Cruise Control. Still no update on availability in the USA.
This bike is SO MUCH lighter and easier to ride (and pick up) than my Tenere 700, I find myself taking it onto challenging off road trails even riding by myself. And, it can still cruise the highway at 70 mph relatively smoothly.

I've reviewed the Honda Transalp 750 ($9,999), Suzuki V-Strom 800DE ($11,709), and Yamaha Tenere 700 ($10,999) in isolation. Now, I am putting them head to head. For anyone looking for a solid, capable, extremely reliable, do it all midsize motorcycle, these are the 3 that are likely on the top of your list.
For 2025, Honda has updated the suspension, windshield, electronics, and paint colors (yay!) on the Transalp. Yamaha have made comprehensive updates to their Tenere as well. The Suzuki is the newest to the category and receives only paint color updates for 2025.
I'll break down the differences that matter so you can decide which is best for you. Any specific areas you want me to cover, chime in below.
