Ossiah White

A famous bronze sculpture by German artist Renee Sintenis. It is located in the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA). 

The sculpture was created in 1927 and acquired by the museum in 1928. 

It is the only artwork in the museum that visitors are encouraged to touch. 

Years of affectionate pats have worn the bronze smooth in certain areas. 

The museum is a popular field trip destination, and many people have fond memories of visiting the sculpture.
