A Step Toward Healthier Sindh
🌾 Nutrition Matters!
The Sindh Food Authority and the World Food Programme have signed an MoU to improve food quality and nutrition in Sindh. Together, we will work on "Fortification of Whole Wheat Flour Through Small-Scale Mills (Chakkis)" as part of WFP’s Pakistan Country Strategic Plan (CSP).
This initiative will ensure enhanced nutritional value in wheat flour, benefiting communities across Sindh.
سندھ فوڈ اتھارٹی اور ورلڈ فوڈ پروگرام نے سندھ میں غذائی معیار اور غذائیت کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے ایک مفاہمتی یادداشت (MoU) پر دستخط کیے ہیں۔ اس شراکت کے تحت، ہم "چھوٹے پیمانے پر آٹے کی چکیوں کے ذریعے گندم کے آٹے کی فورٹیفیکیشن" کے منصوبے پر کام کریں گے، جو ڈبلیو ایف پی کے پاکستان کنٹری اسٹریٹجک پلان (CSP) کا حصہ ہے۔
یہ اقدام گندم کے آٹے میں غذائیت کی بہتری کو یقینی بنائے گا، جس سے سندھ کے مختلف طبقات کو فائدہ پہنچے گا۔

WORLD IODINE DEFICIENCY DISORDER DAY, 2024
PROVINCIAL ADVOCACY AND SENSITIZATION SEMINAR ON 22ND OCT AT HOTEL BEACH LUXURY KARACHI.

The Iodine Global Network (IGN), formally known as the International Council for the Control
for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders (ICCIDD) Global Network, collaborates with major
stakeholders such as (UNICEF) , (WHO) , Nutrition International (NI), and The Global Alliance for
Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in a variety of joint efforts aimed at eliminating Iodine Deficiency Disorders. These include Awareness and Advocacy efforts to promote the fortification of staple foods with essential micronutrients such as iodine.

In this regard, RMNCH in collaboration with UNICEF has organized a Provincial Advocacy & Sensitization Seminar on 22nd October 2024 at Hotel Beach Luxury, Karachi.

In a major crackdown, the Sindh Food Authority has seized 12,000 liters of unsafe cooking oil and sealed 11 substandard RO plants. These actions highlight our commitment to protecting the health and well-being of our citizens.

Director General Muzamil Hussain Halepoto emphasized the importance of public health. We will not tolerate substandard products that endanger public safety.
