The Italy travel space online is full of questions sparked by viral videos, social media posts, and Facebook group threads. Pick a week and you'll find at least one rumor that needs sorting out. If you watched my Saint Peter's Basilica video from early 2025, the updated 2026 version is now on the channel. Same-day phone booking is new, I've tested the shaded ticket line myself and confirmed it's significantly faster, and a few other things have shifted.

Saint Peter's Basilica is one of the most visited places in Rome, and it's also one of the most misunderstood. The basilica is free and open every day of the year from 7am to 7:10pm. The line is what catches people out, and the line is what can be planned around. Full updated 2026 guide on the channel tomorrow!

Outside of Rome, Florence, and Naples, which part of Italy would you most want us to cover?

I'm going live on Sunday, June 7 at 12pm ET for an Italy travel myth-busting AMA. Are tour companies really losing access to the Colosseum? Do Italians actually refuse cappuccino after 11am? Is that rule from TikTok actually a
rule?

Bring whatever you've read online about Italy travel that you're not sure is true, and I'll cut through the rumors, viral videos, and Facebook group panic with what's actually true.

Sunday on the Romewise channel: the updated 2026 guide to visiting Saint Peter's Basilica. The basilica is free, open 7am to 7:10pm every day of the year, but the smart way to visit without losing two hours of your trip to the line has changed since 2025. One thing I'll cover: the 7 euro audio guide booking that gets you a separate, shaded security line and saves more time than people realize.

This has been one of my most asked questions in 2026 and I am finally answering it this sunday 5/31/2026 at 12PM EST

Quick travel tip for anyone in Rome right now. The Pincio terrace above Piazza del Popolo has the best free panorama in the city. The view stretches across the historic center to St. Peter's dome. Go about thirty minutes before sunset and walk down through Villa Borghese afterward. No ticket, no queue, no fee.
