RV Poop Chute... Am I Missing Something? 🤔💩
I came across these disposable sewer hose liners that claim to make dumping your RV tanks cleaner, easier, and mess-free, but honestly, I have a LOT of questions.
How are you supposed to thread the liner easily through the sewer hose, even when it’s collapsed, without it becoming a giant hassle?
What happens when the liner inevitably tears or gets pulled into the campground sewer system?
And then there's the whole "dispose and recycle" thing... I'm definitely not recycling a plastic bag that just carried human waste. 😂
Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems like a solution that creates more problems than it solves.
What do you think?
Would you actually use one?
If you want to buy one you can actually order them on Amazon.

🚽💦 RV Gear Recommendation: Valterra Flush King
If you've ever used a standard tank rinsers, you know the drill — underwhelming, mildly effective, and painfully slow. Reverse flush valves are WAY better and how I flush my tanks - both black AND grey! If you don’t have one already it's a game changer for RV tank maintenance.
The Valterra Flush King twists right onto your RV's existing sewer outlet using bayonet fittings, so setup is quick and simple. It comes with a built-in anti-siphon valve and shut-off valve, and installs in-line with your sewer hose like this:
RV Outlet → Flush King → Sewer Hose
How it works:
1. Install the Flush King to your RV sewer outlet with the clear side and your RV sewer hose to the Flush King on the gate valve side.
2. Hook up a garden hose, close the quarter-turn water inlet valve and open the blade valve on the Flush King
3. Dump your tank as you normally would
4. Close the blade valve and turn on the water inlet (turn on water if you haven’t already) — this fills your tank from the BOTTOM UP, significantly faster than any other method I've tried
5. Open the blade valve and dump again - you can let the hose continue to run during the dump or turn it off
6. Repeat as many times as you'd like
The best part? It works on black AND grey tanks — grey tanks don't even come with built-in rinsers, so this fills a real gap in maintenance. And it doesn't matter how many bends or turns you've got in your piping, it still gets the job done.
Word of caution: Grab a water flow meter for this. DO NOT overfill your tank. The only thing worse than waste tank smells inside your RV is waste water spewing out of your roof vent pipe.

I thought my keyless RV door lock was ruined, but the fix was super cheap and took only seconds! RV Lock sent this for me to test and review and after a year the keypads had become hazy and hard to read during the day. A little acetone removed the cloudy haze from the keypad, making the numbers readable again - I'll be keeping an eye on how long the fix lasts, but for now it works! #rvlock

RV Gear & Far
I found out last week my friend Erin published a book on campground etiquette - and as someone who definitely feels that common sense is not so common at times I ordered it on the spot.
I began reading it yesterday and am quite enjoying it - its a fun book; its light and pokes fun at all the little things campers do - sometimes out of disregard, but often out of ignorance - and that seems to be the goal of this book - to cure the latter.
It’s a quick read, but definitely something that holds a ton of value for both beginners and veteran RVers alike. It also would make a GREAT item to have a few copies of in the camper - then when you come across “that” camper in the wild - you can place a copy of the book on their doorstep and help them out (or call them out if they’re acting dumb!).
If you’re not already following @campinerin she’s worth checking out and you can order a copy of the book through the affiliate link below.

RV Gear Highlight: Screen Door Push Bar
My take: Prevent accidentally putting your hand through the screen and make your RV entrance easier to open and close.
These screen door handles are super simple to install and make a world of difference every time you use the RV door.
This simple DIY upgrade is for EVERY RVer that has a screen door without one. It really bugs me that not all manufacturers include this as standard equipment - but if you don’t have one it’s 10/10 would definitely recommend to a friend!

RV Screen Door Adjustable Push Bar
⬛ Black Metal Base: geni.us/xFZJUN3 (Amazon)
⬜ White Metal Base: geni.us/bP5uwMt (Amazon)
🟡 Budget: geni.us/lkdTnM (Amazon)
🌟 Most Reviewed & Highly Rated: geni.us/cSdPAhh
Considerations:
These bars are adjustable and universal. They range from 21 5/8 inches wide to somewhere between 28 and 32 inches depending on the make & model - so measure your door and verify specs so that you can order appropriately!
Some assembly required. Assembly will require a screwdriver, a drill and drill bit. Small pilot holes will need to be drilled into the bar itself to assemble the pieces to the proper width and then on the aluminum frame of the screen door once proper placement is aligned.
It’s a simple install that I’m confident you can accomplish in just a few minutes that will add tremendous value to your RV experience - if you don’t already have one installed what are you waiting for?
Happy Trails!
