I really don't tend to write obituary posts, but I have to comment on the unfortunate and sudden passing of Tomonobu Itagaki. It won't be apparent to people who are familiar with my channel now, but people who have followed me since before this channel even existed will know I'm a huge fan of his works. Ninja Gaiden Black has long been my favorite game, period. Dead or Alive 4 is also my favorite fighting game, so it's no exaggeration to say that I'm quite saddened by this. He wrote a final message if you're interested to read it and there's no shortage of peers and colleagues writing their own heartbroken messages as some of the people who actually knew him.

Just learned about the death of Andrew Dice, also known as Spacedrake, who was the lead of Carpe Fulgur. You'd know them best as the localization team that brought Recettear to the west, as well as Chantelise which is a personal favorite of mine (as evidenced by it being the only "review" on my channel). It wouldn't have happened without him. Rest in Peace.
Sad to hear about the subsequent dissolving of Carpe Fulgur too, of course. They struggled for years to get Trails in the Sky SC localized for Xseed. They eventually did, but not without a lot of personal sacrifices. I would have loved to have seen more projects out of them. Still, their work did lead to an increase in localization efforts for Japanese games to the west, particularly doujin games. Without Recettear's huge success we'd largely be relegated to fan translations at best but now we get official releases! They accomplished a lot and have a lot to be proud of!

I don't think I'm going to go back in on Hollow Knight, sorry to anyone who was watching. I played around 12 hours of it so I think it's safe to say I gave it a fair shake the second time around but I just don't like the game very much, sorry. Gonna try and get back to making videos.

The script for the next video is finished, but it'll be another couple of weeks before I can start filming for it. It's the start of the next volume of "Techknowledgy" videos, and I think it will be a good return! It's a bit different from the previous videos-- this one is more personal and less about obscure hardware. Still, I hope you look forward to it!
