Clause वाक्य का वह हिस्सा होता है जिसमें एक Subject और एक Verb दोनों मौजूद हों।
लेकिन… यह पूरा वाक्य भी हो सकता है और वाक्य का हिस्सा भी।
उदाहरण 1:

I saw a girl. → पूरा sentence है।
who was singing → इसमें ‘who’ subject है और ‘was singing’ verb है → यह एक clause है।

इसलिए याद रखें:

Phrase = बिना subject-verb वाला समूह

Clause = subject-verb वाला समूह

Sentence = clause से मिलकर बनता है

Clauses के 3 मुख्य प्रकार (जो 9th में आते हैं)
1️⃣ Noun Clause

यह clause वाक्य में noun का काम करता है — यानी subject, object, या complement बन सकता है।

कैसे पहचानें?

यदि clause को आप “कौन?”, “क्या?”, “किस बात?” जैसे सवाल पूछकर पहचान सकें, तो वह Noun Clause है।

उदाहरण:

What you said is true.

यहाँ whole clause sentence का subject है → noun clause

I know that he is honest.

यहाँ “that he is honest” object की तरह काम कर रहा है → noun clause

The fact that he failed surprised me.

यहाँ ये complement बन रहा है → noun clause

2️⃣ Adjective Clause / Relative Clause

यह clause किसी noun या pronoun को qualify / describe करता है।
यह हमेशा किसी noun के बाद आता है और उसे extra information देता है।

कैसे पहचानें?

हमेशा Relative Pronouns से शुरू होता है:
who, whom, whose, which, that, where, when

उदाहरण:

The boy who is standing there is my friend.

Clause “boy” को describe कर रहा है → adjective clause

This is the place where I was born.

The book that you gave me is interesting.

3️⃣ Adverb Clause

यह clause verb, adjective, या दूसरे adverb को modify करता है।
यह बताता है:

कब? (Time)

कहाँ? (Place)

क्यों? (Reason)

कैसे? (Manner)

किस condition पर? (Condition)

यह अक्सर subordinating conjunction से शुरू होता है:

when, while, because, since, although, if, unless, before, after, till, as, though, as soon as इत्यादि।

उदाहरण:

I called you because I needed help.

Reason बता रहा है → adverb clause

When the bell rang, the students ran out.

Time बता रहा है → adverb clause

You will pass if you work hard.

Condition बता रहा है → adverb clause

"Mayday" ek bahut hi gahambheer aur turant madad ki pukaar hoti hai jo pilot tab deta hai jab:

Plane mein kuchh technical ya mechanical failure ho,

Mayday call: Indonesia ke aas-paas diya gaya.

Bacha kaise: Pilot ne calm mind ke saath plane ko Singapore mein safely land kiya.
