Go check out the latest video by my colleague, friend – and now fellow YouTuber – Rami Saarikorpi ‪@saarikorpivirtualnerd‬ , where he shows how to build interactive presentations from Gaussian Splatting models using 3DVista.

Rami has also built a Magic Wand style 3D environment scanner similar to mine, based on three 360 cameras, but his setup uses the new DJI Osmo 360 cameras.

3DVista is a fascinating tool for creating all kinds of 360° presentations, and since early this year it has supported 3DGS models as well. And best of all – it's one of the rare software products you can buy outright, with no monthly subscription fees.

Check out Rami’s tutorial and don’t forget to subscribe to his channel!

I recently visited fellow entrepreneur Rami Saarikorpi in Joensuu. Rami has built a similar Magic Wand Scanner setup based on three DJI Osmo 360 cameras. The devices are very similar and produce equally good 3DGS models.

These are April tags and my upcoming video will cover them and how they can help make #3Dscanning more accurate, correct orientation in the coordinate system, and set the model to the correct scale. So stay tuned!

Very exciting! I have just released a new Blender plugin and it is available on my Gumroad store. This 360 Extractor tool helps you extract images from 360 videos so that they can then be used to create 3D environments with Posthot or RealityScan.

Now this starts to look something. I have been tinkering around my Ultimate 360 scanning device. This one has three ‪@insta360‬ X5 cameras, some ‪@SmallRigGlobal‬ and other camera gears and they are connected together with special 3D printed parts which I have designed and modelled my self. This device starts to looks like those Olympic-level archery equipments.

This is very exciting! A huge thank to #Insta360 for sponsoring me. I have a very interesting project coming up where I aim to build the ultimate 3D scanner that utilizes multiple 360 cameras. Stay tuned!

I’ve made some solid improvements to the Camera Array Tool!

The new version (v3.2.0) includes smarter 4DGS rendering, safer COLMAP export (even if rendering is interrupted), and proper support for resuming incomplete animations. Plus, the images.txt export is now fixed and fully Postshot-compatible.

If you’re working with Gaussian Splatting or animated scans in Blender, this update makes the workflow much more reliable.

If you have purchased Camera Array Tool
Download the latest version via your Gumroad Library or from Superhive Market and let me know what you think!

Exciting! I was a guest on Gabriele Romagnoli's XR AI Spotlight podcast show a while ago. Now the first cover art from that session has been released. The actual podcast will be available to watch and listen to on April 30, 2025. It will be interesting to see what it turned out like and what all Gaussian Splatting stuff was discussed there. Stay tuned!
