Prof. Sikkil Vasantha Kumari a noted dancer, teacher and choreographer is educated in music, Vaishnavism and Saiva Siddantham from the University of Madras and Madurai Kamaraj University respectively. She is a disciple of late .Sikkil Ramaswamy Pillai. She had her arangetram under the presidentship of Prof. P. Sambamoorthy a noted musicologist in 1954 .Since then she has been performing all over India and abroad.

Later she came under the tutelage of 'Padmashri' Adyar K.Lakshman.

In 1977 she established her own institution named Bala Natya Manjari and has been propagating Bharathanatyam all over the world. Since 1984 she has been visiting countries like Western Europe, USA, and Japan as a visiting lecturer to various cultural organizations .She has specialized in ABHINAYA and CHOREOGRAPHY.

She has learnt Manipuri from noted Manipuri exponent Guru Kamini Kumar Sinha and Odissi from Guru Ramani Ranjan Jena.
