A wonderful evening out this week at the Southwell Minster Christmas Celebration concert, and a good opportunity to have a look at this beautiful embroidery while I was there!
Worked in silk and gold it was designed by Ernest Geldart and Charles Hogdson-Fowler. It was stored away for decades before being rediscovered with a hand written note containing the names of the embroiderers. It's been beautifully restored and now hangs once again in the Minster for everyone to enjoy.
