The next book the I write will be a New York Times Best Seller.
This is a big dream, yet an achievable dream.
The reason why I would like to write a New York Times best seller is because i want to show what’s possible when you turn failure into knowledge.
The difference in this book than my first book “Master Your Mind: 10 Tips to Shift Your Mindset” will be that it focuses on business as a start up and the challenges that I have experienced.
I’m bookingmarking this post so that I can refer back to it when I become a New York Times Best Seller …

Don’t be afraid to fail.
Failure teaches you how to do the right work, take the right action, and gain the right knowledge.
Without failure, growth does not happen, and staying safe often means staying stuck.
Every setback offers information you can use to improve, adjust, and move forward with more clarity.
The key is not avoiding failure, but learning from it and continuing to take action.
When you treat failure as part of the process instead of a stopping point, it becomes a tool for growth.
Learn from your setbacks, apply the lessons, and turn them into success.

I learned that business is like solving a jigsaw puzzle…
This picture is more than just a screenshot. This picture was a 1000 piece puzzle which has A LOT of pieces to put the picture in the right place.
I have learned three lessons about business from this puzzle.
Lesson number 1: Locate one piece of the puzzle at a time.
In business terms, locate the problem that I would like to solve. This may seem simple, yet discovering the pain, learning the language, and locating the solution takes TIME.
I have failed at this many times because I started with the end in mind before I knew what the starting point was.
Lesson number 2: Reflect on your journey
Before I move on to working with customers and solving their problem, I had to learn how to reflect on my progress.
Just like in the puzzle above, the pieces take time to discover and if I don’t reflect on the puzzle, I won’t be able to identify the growth.
Business can be steady, on the contrary as I am learning to reflect, I noticed the picture that is coming together.
Lesson number 3: Be okay with failure
Putting together a thousand piece puzzle is really a crazy idea. There are literally 1000 pieces and getting the pieces right on the first try for me is impossible.
In business, failure is not avoidable. In fact the more I have failed, the more I have learned that failure is knowledge. Every failure has a new lesson and and lesson helps me gain the knowledge I needed.
In closing, the jigsaw puzzle and business are challenging, but not impossible. You have to locate one piece at a time, reflect on your journey, and be okay with failure.
These are the three lessons I have learned from a jigsaw puzzle and how I apply the knowledge to my business.

The thing that I have learned about business is that every dot that is connected is a failure waiting to happen.
That first dot is a connection to going into business. The second dot is discovering the business that I am going to be in. The third dot is identifying who I would like to serve.
Throughout my journey the distance between the first dot and the second dot is experience, education, and skill.
As I continue to learn and implement, I have discovered that every failure turned into new knowledge.

I recognized why being a fan of others success makes the relationship last longer.
The support is real, more focused on the person you are a fan of, and it keeps you both human 🤯.

The three lessons that I have learned about business:
Over the last half decade, I have been learning how to become a better business man, yet the challenges that I have faced, helped me become the person I am today.
Growth doesn’t happen when action is not taking. In addition to that, I have been putting in the work so I wanted to share the three lessons I have learned so far.
Lesson number 1: Find mentors. Go to new environments and be around people that you are not familiar with.
My very first networking event was a Real Estate event in California while I was serving in the Marine Corps.
The people, environment, and the conversations opened my eyes to what’s possible. From that event I spoke with people who wanted to see me do go even though I was new to the industry.
At the time I didn’t understand what a mentor was and as I continued to show up, finding mentors became an important part of my journey.
Lesson 2: Take action. The information that I have received has been life changing only because I implemented the information overtime.
Although I was inconsistent, I was able to learn the importance of consistent action rather than inconsistency.
Consistency is important because the more you focus on one thing eventually that one thing will become fruitful.
Lesson 3: Give yourself time. My biggest struggle was not achieving as much success as my mentors. I didn’t recognize this at the time but I was comparing my journey to there journey and it became overwhelming.
Everyone starts somewhere and the moment I started, I learned that it was going to take me a long time to figure out.
In closing, find mentors, take action, and give yourself time are the main lessons that I have learned while being in business for the last half of decade.
Thank you for reading, remember you are on your own journey which means you have time to figure it out.

You don’t succeed without failure. You succeed because of the failure because it turns into knowledge that can help you later on in life.
