Bhavageete (or Bhavageeth, meaning 'emotional poetry') is a genre of Indian poetry and light music that blends deep emotion with melody. It typically explores themes such as love, nature, and philosophy. While similar to ghazals in its expressive quality, Bhavageete is not restricted by the strict metrical rules that define ghazals. This form of music enjoys significant popularity in states like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
"Neenillade Nanagenide"
This soulful Bhavageethe is a poignant expression of love and longing, penned by renowned Kannada poet M. N. Vyasa Rao. It beautifully captures the emptiness and silent sorrow of life without a beloved. The heartfelt rendition by Athmashree adds depth and emotion, making it a memorable piece in the world of Kannada light music.

Vasantha Ritu (ವಸಂತ ಋತು), also known as the spring season, is a vibrant and refreshing period in the Bharatheeya calendar, extending from mid-March to mid-May. It symbolizes rejuvenation, new beginnings, and the blossoming of nature.
RagaTaranga (R), Mangalore was delighted to celebrate Vasanthagana–Jhenkara 2025 (ವಸಂತಗಾನ–ಝೇಂಕಾರ) — a cultural platform for young artists to express their talent through music, dance, and other art forms. The event was held on 20th April 2025, offering a joyous opportunity for children to reconnect with the art they love after a hectic period of academic exams.
Children, having spent two months focused on their studies, returned to their passion with renewed energy, practicing at home and preparing enthusiastically for their performances. Their joy and dedication added life to the celebration.
Below is a photograph from the inauguration of the event, marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp. A young child also participated in the ceremony, beautifully symbolizing the kindling of Jnana Jyothi (ಜ್ಞಾನ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ) — the eternal flame of knowledge.
