In my latest video I do a full gouache demo of a golden hour urban scene while talking about how philosophy can help us build a better sketching practice. Let me know what you think!

Just finished up this sketch that I started in the field. Something I’ve almost never done before. It felt like I wasn’t sure what to do but I went for it anyway. I feel like a pro at not knowing what to do! Do you ever stop in the field and finish up back at the studio?

In the context of visual art, do you think there is a difference between being CREATIVE and being ARTISTIC?

Went to the mountains to paint myself out of a rut. It was extremely refreshing. Talk about it in my latest video. ❤️ ⛰️

If you saw my previous video, I got to chat with ‪@ScottHebertArt‬ about his daily art journey. DEFINITELY check out this video he made talking about the lessons he’s learned over the past 250 days. There’s a ton of wisdom and insight for all
of us regardless of where you are in your art journey or if you even want to do art every day or not. It’s people like this that really give us all great resources as self taught learners and I think the art space on YouTube is better because of videos like this. I wish I had seen this video when I first got started!

Got out there today to do some gouache plein air. It was super peaceful and just fun to sketch without any pressure. I’m trying out painting on toned Mi Tientes Board by Canson. It’s interesting for sure. And kind of convenient to not have to tone it myself.
