My name is Victor DeSordi. At the age of 19 I was given a life sentence for murder.
In this powerful and deeply personal introduction, I talk about the violent crime that changed the course of my life forever. In a moment of drug-fueled confusion and rage, I brandished a knife during a confrontation and delivered a fatal blow. The incident resulted in the tragic loss of life and ultimately led to my being sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for murder. With raw honesty, I’m sharing the immediate aftermath and how it felt to know my life, as I once knew it, was over.
Now a free man with a mission, I’m launching this YouTube channel, 28 to Persevere, as a platform for reflection, redemption, and inspiration. Through my stories, I aim to shed light on the consequences of violence, the reality of incarceration, and the human capacity for change. This first episode is more than an introduction—it's an invitation to join me on a journey of truth, transformation, and purpose.

We find ourselves facing so many crossroads in this journey we call life…Today, I am a Free Man, 50 years old, with a lust for life and an insatiable curiosity to explore, understand and familiarize myself with the world around me, along with the people who I meet along this pathway of opportunity laid out before me!
Recently, I’ve been focusing my energy upon a writing endeavor…because the Gods Work in mysterious ways, my wife informed me that the vast majority of my personal reflections, poems and meanderings that I wrote in numerous notebooks throughout my incarceration, and periodically sent home, she securely kept in multiple bins…so I have been reading them and have decided to write a book, which will be an exclusive look into, not only my mental state, but also into my hopes, dreams, frustrations, philosophy, principles, desires & dilemmas..This endeavor will not be a Biography but will be biographical, in a sense….
