I'm happy to share with you guys the first ever Supporter-exclusive 'unreleased' video.
This is a new idea I'm trying that I hope you will like. Essentially, there are a lot of ideas I have for video essays that don't always suit The Soak - either because the thing covered wouldn't perform well or because it's negatively slanted and I'd rather focus on positive, uplifting videos. But, I still think it'd be fun to share it and a lot of you would enjoy hearing these ideas fleshed out. So here it is!
This first one discusses my various issues with Season 2 & 3 of Squid game, a show on which I'd made a Soak video praising Season 1. Above is a truncated version of my many, many thoughts on the matter.
If you like any particular video a lot, I may consider making it into a full video and higher tier Patrons can request a video like the one above for certain media they'd like my thoughts on!
Right now, I am making it available to you guys who are looking at the Community tab and members of The Soak discord server, but in the future these videos will only be available to members of the Wading In tier and above on YouTube & Patreon. Thank you for your support!
One More Time! The Howl's Moving Castle analysis has been taken down by Studio Ghibli. The community section will mostly just be an update on when videos are taken down by copyright, it seems. Very frustrating but I will fight all these to the death! I had already fought a copyright strike on the Howl's Video BEFORE it was made public... but somehow it seems they're able to strike me again and get the video taken down even weeks later too. So once again, I have appealed and will hopefully have the video with you again soon
Again, this is why I appreciate direct support on Patreon so much as the revenue from Youtube is very much up in the air if these big companies decide to want to screw over small creators. Also allows me to keep you more up to date and give access to videos even if/when they're taken down! www.patreon.com/thesoak
Round 3! Once more, the re-upload of the video on Kiki's Delivery Service has been flagged for copyright. I half expected this but at least this time we got the video out for a week before they returned from Christmas break to do this! Again, the legal process will have to take place. If you wanted to watch it and it disappears, it will hopefully reappear within 2 weeks but thought I'd let you all know. This is also why Patreon support is so important to me, not only because I can give you updates and access to videos even when they get taken down, but also that copyright is always a looming threat on Youtube threatening to destroy my livelihood www.patreon.com/thesoak

The latest video on Kiki's Delivery Service, which I was touched to see so many of you were enjoying, has been taken down by Studio Ghibli with a copyright strike on my channel. I've escalated the appeal to the highest form I can. So, it will now be 10 U.S. Business Days, so effectively 2 weeks, before this video likely sees the light of day unless Ghibli (a) decide to let the claim go early (unlikely) or (b) they sue me!
How would you guys feel if the next Soak video was just a straight up movie review (of Raya & The Last Dragon) as opposed to a full-fledged breakdown of something? Just curious if that's some content you guys would enjoy being mixed in
