She started to pursue her property investment career full time in 2016. She grew her portfolio rapidly through acquiring multiple multi-family properties and developing a small townhouse complex in the first two years.

Retha founded My Student House in 2020. It specialises in managing student accommodation for its investors and external landlords who want to benefit from it but do not want to do it themselves.

My Student House manages over 1500 students and has a presence in Cape Town, Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, and Van Der Bijl.
