I went live with Perez Hilton last night, and I want to be very clear and transparent about why I am involved in the Gypsy Rose Blanchard case and what my role actually is.

First, I want to be clear: I am not an expert on this case. I’m not a lawyer, investigator, or profiler. I do not claim authority over the “correct” interpretation of events. My role has been to act as a vehicle for information, and to collect, preserve, and make primary-source material available so the public can examine it for themselves.

I came to this case through my cousin, who is currently incarcerated and serving a long sentence. Through that connection, I began thinking deeply about justice, sentencing disparities, and what life inside prison actually looks like. When I first began paying attention to Gypsy’s case, my response was not suspicion or criticism, it was prayer. We were praying that she would leave prison and live a quiet, healthy, productive life.

That changed about two days before her release.

When I began hearing about plans for celebrity access and high-profile attention, including wanting to meet Taylor Swift, it raised red flags for me, not because of fame itself, but because it signaled that this was not going to be a quiet reintegration. That was the moment I decided to slow down, look more closely, and begin verifying things for myself instead of relying on public narratives.

I also want to address the crowdfunding openly. Yes, I crowdfunded to obtain records and information. Those funds were used specifically to acquire documents and materials that are not otherwise easily accessible. My goal has always been to release what I can to the public as quickly and responsibly as possible. We are not gatekeeping information.

However, there are real limitations. Because there is an active investigation in Greene County related to explicit materials that were sent to us, we cannot upload or distribute anything explicit or illegal. Only materials that are non-explicit and legally shareable can be release. That is not secrecy, it is compliance with the law and respect for an ongoing investigation.

I also want to be transparent about what happens when this process is complete. Once I finish filing FOIAs in Wisconsin and Louisiana, any remaining crowdfunding funds will be split and donated, half to Military Broadcast Radio (MBR) and half to the Jelani Day Foundation. None of this is being done for personal profit.

I want to be very honest about this: if Gypsy had walked out of prison and lived a quiet, productive life, I would not be here collecting documents, filing requests, or pushing for movement. None of this would be happening. The level of attention, monetization, and narrative control surrounding this case is what made careful documentation necessary.

I am a disabled veteran, and Into the Weeds is not just a podcast—it is part of my cognitive therapy. Research, organization, and thoughtful conversation help me manage my injury and continue functioning with purpose. This work is personal, not performative.

You don’t have to agree with my opinions or conclusions. But I believe people deserve to know where I come from, why I do this, and that my intent has never been to trash anyone or profit from tragedy. My goal is transparency, documentation, and accountability, wherever the facts lead.
