Israel is in panic mode over a leaked video showing IDF soldiers sexually abusing a Palestinian prisoner. The footage, from a 2024 incident, shows a Palestinian detainee who was blindfolded, beaten, and sexually assaulted. After the leak last summer, five soldiers were charged with rape and later indicted for “aggravated abuse.” They remain on trial and in a recent video, vowed to “fight for justice.”



The victim was hospitalized with a ruptured bowel, lung injuries, broken ribs, and severe anal trauma.



Rather than outrage, the case sparked riots from right-wing Israelis angry that soldiers were being prosecuted at all.



And this is hardly an isolated event. For decades, Israel has held thousands of Palestinians at a time without charge or trial under its Administrative Detention policy. Many have reported sexual assault, starvation, and beatings while in Israeli custody.



It is telling that, for Netanyahu, this isn’t a human rights crisis. It's a public relations crisis. For decades, the world has looked away from this, but now that Israel’s atrocities are playing out in full view, this practice can no longer be ignored.

Fade the loonie:
Its bad enough that Canada’s Liberal government literally destroyed our economic strength through 10 years of reckless spending. That, and woke policies that literally handed our global energy sales to the USA. The Canadian economy is at or near the bottom of developed nations in GDP growth and productivity, and our currency shows it. This happened pre-Trump tariffs. No scapegoats allowed here.

Now, President Trump has stated that he is tacking on an extra 10% tariff on Canadian exports because of Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s controversial TV ad. Ford, a man unencumbered by intellect, has inspired PM Mark Carney to lower his elbows even more, just when we thought they couldn’t get any lower. Carney is now attempting to distance himself from Ontario’s public relations move with a 180 degree shift from all his bravado during the Canadian election campaign. Its been the Seinfeld “show about nothing” since his election. His recent APEC trip failed to materialize any new deals, citing “relationship building” – rather than results.

Meanwhile, the US president secured pledges from Vietnam to dramatically increase its US purchases, and signed deals with Malaysia and Thailand on a framework to diversify critical minerals supply chains. This, after signing a deal with China.

The Supreme Court in Minnesota ruled that a man was discriminated against on the basis of sex and sexual orientation when he was barred from competing with women in powerlifting.



Joel “Jaycee” Cooper was prohibited from competing with female powerlifters by USA Powerlifting in 2018 and instead of admitting that he should stay out of the women's category, he right away started litigating.



According to Reduxx, "in 2019, Cooper was recorded as weighing 280 pounds, and had already won two titles in the women’s category despite having only entered the sport the year before and set a new bench press record with a 214.5-pound lift."

The judge in the Minnesota case sees no problem there. She ruled that he was discriminated on the basis of sex and sexual orientation.



This ruling may not stand for long. The U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear two major cases — one from West Virginia and another from Idaho — that could redefine how sex is interpreted under Title IX. Both involve bans on biological males competing in women’s sports. If the Court upholds those bans, it could effectively overturn decisions like this one in Minnesota.



I am betting that they will do exactly that so this guy should not unpack his gym bag in the ladies locker room just yet.
