This channel is all about being a helpful guide to people who want to write, but don’t really know where to begin. I want to make this a channel for people who were in my position when starting out, who really wanted to become better at the craft, but just needed someone out there to break it down for them.
For some background on myself, I’ve written 5 fantasy books and am working on a 6th right now. I’ve worked as the Managing Editor and Executive Associate for a Best-Selling author. I’ve had my work looked at and praised by accomplished editors like Robert Yehling and Sandra Fox. My passion is everything with story: books, television, movies, video games, you name it. This channel will dive into every single one of them!

A Raygiri never cuts their hair, so the Queen of the Raygiri surely could not cut hers. Nevayna Raygell was much loved and much feared all across the Empire, representing the highest standards for what all Raygiri women aspired to be. Queen Nevayna was beautiful, firm, and kind. However, above all else, she was fearsome. The Queen was a sailor in her youth, and the sea bent to the power of her magical weapons and the maelstroms they could bring.
Now, her son, Raygon, has taken up her tempestuous spirit with a declaration of murder against the Vaemese Emperor. The Prince promised that nothing would stop him from taking revenge on the people that had wronged the Raygiri so. Nevayna was endlessly worried when her son left to kill the Northern monarch… but she could not deny that she was also endlessly proud.

The fearsome Granddragons that you have become accustomed to didn’t always look so refined and elegant. Long ago, the Imperials of the North worked endlessly to perfect the rough edges of the wild Granddragons. The beasts were no more than large lizards with flicking tongues, sagging skins, and senseless ferocity. But the Imperials of Varunia saw the potential hidden within the reptiles.
Dragontamers feed their mounts a steady diet of Tektite crystals to enhance their bodies, and selectively breed them over dozens of generations to grow their size. The most flawless specimens were given over to the royal family, while nobles and generals kept dragons such as this one. Perfect or not, it was a great honor to command a dragon, and one that all across the world envied.

Who doesn’t want their own personal, teenage dragon? Daerek Corvinus and his scaly friend, Jhonin, are the stars of my recently released book, Imperious! Jhonin may look friendly, but he could kill half a dozen men in just as many seconds. And much the same could be said for Daerek. He might have a smile, but his hammer swings can knock down walls. Both these companions will have to use all their skills to survive the dangerous foes hunting them… and the dangerous friend in their midst.

There had never been a prodigy like Taza’Kan. Nor had there been anyone more dangerous in all the East. Taza’Kan grew with no family, for he burned them all moments from the womb. Taza’Kan had no home, for he reduced it to cinders with his cries and tears. Even his name is a moniker of fear given to him by those that heard his legend. Taza’Kan means “He Who Steps Through Ash”, and so the young boy was known far and wide as the Ashwalker.
Over the years, though, Taza’Kan did make a family for himself. He found a wife; a woman whose flesh would not burn no matter how violent the flames. He fathered a son; one who could command the very winds themselves. And he had grandsons- men who would become leaders throughout the East. Still, Taza’Kan could never forget the flames that gave birth to him. And eventually, with the help of his progeny and ardent followers, he sought to soak the rest of the world in purifying fire.

Luster Telen rules over the most powerful nation in the world as BriteStar, a position of both royalty and divinity. Luster and his famous house, the Telens, are praised by priests as descendants of the one true god himself, Gartharius Brite. And it is hard for the citizens of Centralis to argue. Luster and his relative use Telekinesis more powerfully than anyone else. Even the BriteStar’s crystal crown is constantly floating above his head by way of his Talent. But Laster has grown cranky and crabby in his old age, slipping further from public favor with each day. With invaders at his borders and turmoil brewing in his lands, can he quell the conflict coming his way? Or will he be swallowed up and replaced by someone more beloved?

The people of the North are not at all kind to foreign travelers from the South. This rings especially true when such travelers have Talents and dangerous powers. Only the most resilient (and well-armed) immigrants could make a home in the hostile Higher Lands. Thankfully for the Great House Lunex, they arrived with gold, armies, and fanatical followers.
House Lunex, known far and wide as the Flight family for their ability to soar through the air, traces its line back to royalty. The family once ruling over the Kingdom of Cirrilia and allied itself the Imperium of Varunia and the Kaemens that led it. Now, House Lunex rules over a much smaller plot of land, but still retains the wealth and prestige that such a storied family demands. Much like their Northern neighbors, House Lunex and their Cirrilian citizens don’t can’t kindly to strangers or new allies. But one man is coming to them seeking aide, and he comes not just with gifts, but with Granddragons.

House Kaemen is not only one of the oldest houses in the world, but one of the most important too. In all of history, the Kaemens were the first to tame Granddragons, and from the power those beasts gave them, they took over the world. Hence, they established the Imperium of Varunia with themselves seated at the top.
The obsession of House Kaemen across all their generations was to bring about the Primus. This was a dragon who could not only fly, but breathe fire. The scions of House Kaemen thought of themselves as little dragons trapped in the flesh of men. To become closer to their great dragon goddess, Varunia, the Kaemens often kidnapped the dark-skinned Fire-Flingers of the Southeast and had children with them. The hope was that the new Kaemen babies would come out with fire shooting from their fingertips. Most never produced a single flame, but their attitudes surely remained fiery.

Of all the warriors in the North, the Imperial Guard have the most important job of all: protect the Emperor by any means. To that end, only the most prodigious and talented fighters are allowed entrance into the Imperial Guard. And thereafter, they are given the most efficient and expensive armaments. The armor of the guard is forged from Granddragon scales and Senantori steel, meant to withstand any piercing shot or slicing swing. Their faces are oft kept hidden to inspire fear in the minds of their enemies. And at the highest ranks of the guards, their weapons are Arcana: swords and axes and hammers emblazoned with Tektite crystals and terrible magical powers. The only men will to fight this guild of warriors would either have to be fools… or the fiercest killers on the planet.
