Hey all! The U.S. Chess Championships are happening now in St. Louis!
If you’re in town (or visiting), I’ll be at the STL Chess Club this Friday and Saturday (Oct 17–18) from 2–5pm, taking on challengers, doing commentary, and chatting with anyone who stops by.
With a ticket, you’ll get to watch the top U.S. players compete up close, relax with snacks and beverages, and also meet and play me while I’m there. Complimentary valet parking is also included.

After six hard-fought games in the Madrid Chess Festival, I’m in a four-way tie for second in my section with 3.5 points. While I’m out of contention for a GM norm, I’m still in a position to finish first in my group. The schedule has been grueling, and I haven’t been able to keep up with posting recaps.
