I got a new addition to the wall yesterday! My big bull Red Drum from my bachelor party trip with my dad and brother. Fun memory to look back to whenever I see it.

Well, it's a bit disappointing for me, I was really looking forward to getting back into this stock project this February to huddle indoors during the winter. But, I ordered my chisels (about $250 worth) through Beavercraft in late December of 2023... and a month+ later, they are still to leave Ukraine.
Among the plethora of actual problems going on in the world because of the war in Ukraine, I never thought I would be whining about my woodworking project while they've got a war going on in their country -- but! Excited to finally get started whenever they get here...

Soppy Father's Day post, which isn't normally my style! BUT! Being Outdoors people, many of us owe the knowledge or the interest in the outdoors to our fathers. And that is certainly no different with me. I begrudgingly woke up to many an early morning shoulder nudge to head out hunting and fishing throughout my young life. And although the feelings may have been mixed in those moments, I look back on what I can remember about my childhood and can recall every. single. one. of those times outdoors with my dad.
So! This Fathers day goes out to all the 'shoulder nudgers,' the 'grab the rod!'ers' and the 'don't point that at me!'rs' out there. We may not have gone with you on every trip to the grocery store, but we certainly remember every one of those moments you pulled us into the great outdoors.
And to those of you with little ones on the way -- never doubt the impact you are having with your young outdoors people. Whether you're landing a trophy fish, seeing a buck emerge from the tree line, or just spending quality time out in the woods... One day your son or daughter may be writing this same post about you! Start small, and make big impacts in their lives.
