The Heavy Underground

Ten years ago on October 19th, 2015, I went to the emergency room in the early, early morning suffering extreme pressure and pain in my arms and chest. At 36 years old I was found to be in the throes of heart failure, due to neglected health, untreated diabetes and two blocked arteries (at 85 and 90%). While recovering, the initial idea to start The Heavy Underground was hatched and by August 2016, I had started uploading videos.
Late nights, long weekends and
spare time found here and there have been spent in documenting my experiences and appreciation for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal over nearly a decade.
I want to send a heartfelt THANK YOU! to everyone who had tuned in, left a comment, liked or subscribed over the last nine years or so to The Heavy Underground. This channel has been a labor of love in finding ways to chronicle and document the live shows I have had the privelege of attending over the years and showcase the menegerie of Rock and Metal-related ephemera I have collected over the thirty-five years since I found my place in the Heavy Metal world.

Rest in peace to Sam Rivers from the one of a kind Nu-Metal force Limp Bizkit - 1st time I saw them was at a long gone venue in #Pittsburgh called Metropol in 1996 opening for Korn…I signed their mailing list & got their three song demo a couple weeks later & it blew my mind (raw as fu@k versions of “Stuck”, “Counterfeit” & “Pollution”…holy $hit!)…But that night in ‘96 They were a fun band full of energy, still finding their footing, but already a force to be reckoned with… each band member bringing their unique self into their instrument & performance…Sam’s mark on music will never be forgotten… #RestInPeace
