i tend to disappear every once in a while, sorry for that y'all, life's been taking me to silly mental places. ANYWHO, since I'm among those who patiently (struggling) waiting for arcane s2, and surfing through fandoms looking for a new hyperfix, here's a new edit coming soon!

God bless Katee Sackhoff, I swear. I love her work for quite some time and now, rewatching star wars, I did also fall into battlestar galactica (was and probably still is quite a hyperfix for me since june, i think.) anyways, I'll hopefully edit a bit more star wars and bsg, as well, stay tuned if you're into it!

Okay, I guess it really is time to address the elephant in the room. Buckle up, it's gonna be a ride.

I've been absent with Marina edits lately because I've patiently waited and waited and WAITED for some goddamned consistent meaningful moments, but, here's why I'm stuck.

I am sad and disappointed about how ABC treats station 19. Even moved to the "death" spot as in 10pm, the show manages to provide above average numbers for this exact spot on this exact day of the week (I'd just compare it to the big sky that was around not so long ago and gave lesser numbers). AND this with practically zero promo, since they decided to bury the show and shove it under the rug as if it never existed.

I genuinely hate the fact that the main reasoning for canceling on already shortened season is ABC picking up 911. I love 911, not much lately due to the very same thing that happens to all the shows that run long, the storylines aren't as hooking as they were, and 911 isn't exactly shondaland style drama and mostly relies on action. However, hear me out, I'm exhausted of how this damn network exploits queer community.

First, using Marina to somewhat promote s19 with the worst effort ever made. Literally the only thing they use to show that they are doing SOME promo, is to throw Marina at our faces and that's it. Without Maya and Carina having a goddamned kiss that wasn't cut?! What is it if not exploiting?
Second, what upsets me a lot is that they chose mlm couple in the show that wasn't originally theirs and for what? FOX had years to develop Buck's realization he's bi, but they chose to queerbait instead. FOR 6 SEASONS. While Maya and Carina both have been openly bi on both shows for the same 6 seasons. Ringing some bells, no? I'm sick of this treatment.

I genuinely mean no offense to buddy fans, to 911 fans, to Buck fans. This is just unfair. I highly doubt FOX couldn't afford making Buck bi all those years, it just doesn't sit right with me.
I don't give a single crap about how "woke" ABC might be in comparison to FOX, because s19 suffers from that. S19, that, due to the differences in storytelling, addresses social inequalities more often than 911 does, s19 that by default has more diversity in representation.

Alas, cancelation and underutilizing s19 and it's characters should be embarrassing in 2024. Just as the recent cancelation of NCIS Hawaii. Female poc lead used in promo of 1000 episodes of NCIS universe leading to the cancelation of the show with the main wlw couple on the last day of lesbian visibility week. DOES THIS RING THE BELLS YET?

Honestly, I'm curious how CBS and ABC will handle pride month this year, would they exploit Kacy and Marina saying they're allies? Absolutely, it's not even in question.

So, back to the bells in question: imo, misogyny, homophobia AND racism thrive in Hollywood today, no matter how loudly dudebros scream "woke" at any non cishet-white lead in the project. Plus to that, the literal example is ABC moving the last remaining shondaland show (Grey's) into the same "death spot" of 10pm for the next fall tv season in favor of ANOTHER Ryan Murphy show. (which is, surprise, a damn MEDICAL DRAMA) See, trading the legacy of a black woman in favor of a white man. IN 2024. Fantastic, ain't it?

I know Grey's have outlived itself, like, three times over already, but, I guess it deserved a better way to go out. Not with these stupid movements.

On this note, I'm considering stopping watching any new procedural shows because all this shitshow is excruciatingly exhausting.
