The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. We are committed to promoting continued research on their threatened ecosystems and education about their relevance to the world in which we live. In collaboration with government agencies and other international partners, we also provide assistance to local communities through education, health, training and economic development initiatives.

Congratulations, Urahirwa! 🥳
Urahirwa from Ntambara’s group gave birth to a new infant! When our field team reached the group, they saw the newborn still wet from delivery, just born. They also could clearly see that is a male!
Urahirwa's other offspring, Turikumwe, just reached the juvenile age and is fully weaned, so it's the perfect timing for a new sibling. 💛
